Police Investigating Newton South Alleged Threat

School opening is not being impacted from an alleged threat or because of inclement weather Monday morning.

Police are investigating an alleged threat made involving Newton South.

There are few details currently available, though Newton South Principal Joel Stembridge said in a Monday morning letter that there will be an increased police presence. Stembridge said several students and parents called police Sunday night because of an anonymous message on social media.

School will be opening at its normal time - as of 6:45 a.m. there were no delays for weather either.
