NEWTON, MA — Each week the Newton Police respond to a number of phone calls. Here's a sample of the types of calls they respond to. It should be noted that the incident log is public information the police are required to provide. In addition: Just because someone reports an incident doesn't mean that's the way it happened, and all are presumed innocent until they're proven otherwise in a court of law. Arrests do not imply conviction.

She told police that her and her husband were inside the store for only 10 minutes. The store showed police surveillance video of both the parking lot and inside the store, which showed that at 9:25 p.m. a black SUV pulled up next to their car and then a light shines near the passenger window. Uber gross: Police summonsed a man to court to face charges of indecent exposure, civil rights violation and disorderly conduct after they were called to Harrison Street for a dispute between an Uber driver and passenger. An Uber driver had dropped off a man and woman at a home there but the driver told police he was worried about the woman because she'd thrown up twice during the ride. The driver noted the man had been making noises at him and threw a glass bottle out of the car while they were moving.
Police came to the area, spoke to the man who had been in the car and asked if they could speak to the woman, letting him know they were concerned about her well being. They described the man as smelling like alcohol, having glassy eyes and swaying from side to side. Eventually the woman came to the door and police said she seemed fine.
The driver, who was black and spoke with an accent told police that he'd had to pull over two times during the ride from Allston to Newton to let the woman puke outside the car. When they got to the house he asked the two riding in the car get out so he could make sure there was no puke inside the car, which he would charge them extra for. The passenger told him it wasn't necessary the two had a disagreement about when to end the ride and then the driver watched as the two exited because he wanted to make sure he wouldn't have to charge them an extra clean up fee, he told police. But while the two were getting out of the car, the man made some noises. The nature of the noises were redacted by police, but police said the driver interpreted them as racially motivated. When the driver did a U-Turn to leave, the drunk man was standing in the middle of the road blocking the Uber from going anywhere. The man proceeded to undo his pants, reach into his pants and remove his genitals completely from the pants, fully exposing himself and began walking toward the driver's door. The Uber driver was able to escape and call police he said.
