The Rumor's Finally True: Pepe's Opening in Chestnut Hill
The wait is over. The world-famous New Haven-style pizza pie is now going to be available to the area.

NEWTON, MA - And what was once a pie in the sky rumor is finally coming true.
Gary Bimonte, who is the grandson of Frank Pepe, founder of the New Haven, Connecticut-based Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana (yeah, we just call it Pepe’s), is celebrating the opening of the latest location in the Shops at Chestnut Hill.
Joining Newton Mayor Setti Warren, and probably oodles of pizza fans, Pepe’s officially opens its doors with a pizza cutting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Shops at Chestnut Hill, 199 West Boylston St.

This is the eighth location of the world famous pizza shop. Mayor Warren plans to serve up the first slices of white clam pizza, Pepe’s signature combo that includes fresh clams, grated cheese, olive oil, oregano and fresh garlic, to guests.
Pepe’s was founded in 1925 in New Haven, CT, by Frank Pepe, who immigrated to the United States in 1909 at the age of 16.
