Samuel Adams Night of Funk: Samuel Adams' One-Of-A-Kind Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru, Released For A Limited Time Only

BOSTON—August 18, 2015—Jim Koch, Samuel Adams founder and brewer, will tap the first keg of limited release Kosmic Mother Funk (KMF) Grand Cru at the Boston Brewery on September 2nd. Following the event at the brewery, the brewers will be taking their special Belgian style ale, on a second annual Tasting Tour across the country. This limited release batch of KMF Grand Cru will be poured at a limited number of bars and restaurants in 20 cities, with the final stop on the tour determined by drinkers who will vote for their city online.

For the first time, the brewers will release a very limited number of bottles of this special brew, which will be available for sale starting the night of September 2nd and will be available at the brewery until it is gone. Drinkers will have the opportunity to visit the Barrel Room and to taste KMF Grand Cru with Jim Koch. To add to the funk, the event will also feature funk and soul band The Chicken Slacks and various funky food options.

About the Funky Brew:

Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru is a unique Belgian style ale, aged in Hungarian oak tuns for over a year and fermented with multiple microorganisms including Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus and other wild critters found in the environment of the Boston Brewery.

This complex ale is wild, tart and funky, with a depth of flavors ranging from earthy and spicy to floral and sweet.

Kosmic Mother Funk is at the heart and soul of the Samuel Adams Barrel Room Collection beers and blended in varying degrees into each brew.
