Newton Police sends Patch regular updates about what kinds of calls they respond to. Here is what they sent for between Aug. 14 and Aug. 18.

Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017
Slasher: An officer was in the area of Union St when they were flagged down by a man who told them that he had his car parked in front of 69 Union St. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, around noon till Wednesday Sept. 13, around 1 a.m.. When ... came out to his vehicle around 1 a.m. on Wed. he noticed that his front passenger side tire had been slashed.
Arrested for Trespassing: Michael John Sutherland, 45, of Charles Street in Waltham was arrested and charged with trespassing.
Saturday, Sept. 16
Arrested: James Michael Welch, 22, homeless was arrested and charged on multiple warrants.

Monday, Sept. 18
Keyed: An officer was dispatched for a report of two keyed cars. Both cars were keyed on the driver's side, and parked overnight on Water St.
Warrant Arrest: Daniel Larry Kim, 49, of Winthrop, was arrested and charged on two warrants, one out of Norfolk Superior Court for indecent assault and battery, criminal harassment, and four counts of HPO violations and intimidating a witness and harassment. The second warrant was out of Newton District Court for arson.
