Spate Of Car Break-Ins, Fights: Newton Police Logs
From fights to break-ins here's what the Newton police responded to this week.

NEWTON, MA — Every week the Newton Police respond to a number of calls around the city. Here's a sample from the week of March 2 through March 9. Note that just because someone reported something to the police doesn't necessarily mean that's the way it shook out.
Friday, March 2
Break in: An Upland Road resident called to report their home was broken into. They told police they went to dinner around 6:30 p.m. and when they got home around 9:30 p.m. the house had been ransacked.

Caught on film: Someone at the Longwood Cricket club reported that they found video surveillance showing two people removing 7 copper drain pipes and elbows from around the building on Feb. 19.
Sunday, March 4
Crash: A Gray Cliff Road resident reported a car had crashed into a city gas lap on Gray Cliff Road. Police said the 26-year-old man from Brighton was also unable to explain how the crash happened or how he ended up on Gray Cliff Road. Medics advised he be taken to the hosptial for evaluation.
Police issued a citation for Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and for a marked lanes violation.

Arrest, Traffic: Police arrested as Joshua Dickerson, 33, of Brookline, for failing to stop for a Police Officer, going through a stop sign, making an illegal U-turn, and speeding.
Head on collision: Police arrested Vladimir Fandunyan, 42, of New Hampshire after being called to the scene of a head on collision. Police said Fandunyan hit a car attempting to stop a at a right light near the corner of Washington and Wales streets. Police charged him with operating a car under the influence of alcohol and for marked lanes violation.
Crash leads to arrest: Police arrested Paul James Leone, 46, of Newton on Adams street for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Monday, March 5
Strange: Someone called at 10:45 a.m. to report a suspicious person on Washington Street.
Break in: A Pine Ridge Road resident called to report they thought their home was broken into, when an officer got there he saw through the window that drawers were pulled out of dressers and papers strewn across the floor.
What was that? At 9:10 p.m. a Bernard Street resident reported hearing a loud noise.
Tuesday, March, 6
Theft: Someone at The Towers of Chestnut Hill reported a stolen item.
Dude, where's my bike: A Durant Street resident reported their bike missing.
Wednesday, March 7
Spate of car break ins: Six cars were reported broken into, four of them on Halcyon Road another was on Clark Street another on California Street.
Stolen car: Someone reported a stolen car from Putnam Street.
Stolen: Someone reported a theft on Walnut Street.
Thursday, March 8
Break in: Someone on Orchard Avenue called just about 1 a.m. to report a break in.
Fight club: Three assaults were reported, one at 10:13 a.m. near the corner of Boylston and Moody streets, one on Chestnut Street at 6:30 p.m. and one On Great Meadow Road at 7:47 p.m.
Larcenies: Something went missing from Parker Street, and Christina Street and from a church nursery school on Highland Street.
