Tax Debt and Speeding Tickets in Setti Warren's Past, Globe Says
In a Globe report, the possible gubernatorial candidate chalked up much of his past to being young and irresponsible.
NEWTON, MA – Newton Mayor Setti Warren recently had to explain a few speeding tickets, an IRS debt and a curious residency at the White House after the Boston Globe uncovered a couple of financial indiscretions in his past.
Warren, considering a run for governor, had his license suspended in 1993 at the age of 23 after failing to pay a speeding ticket; five years later, he was dealt a couple more while driving on the Pike, the Globe reported. He also had a federal tax lien and Washington, D.C.- court ordered lean that placed his address at the White House, according to the Globe.
Warren chalked it up to youthful irresponsibility and not having much money in a statement through his spokesperson.
