Inspired by one of the most iconic paintings of all time – Georges Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" – "Sunday" explores essential questions of connection, progress, and the power of creation. Act One, set in 1880s Paris, follows Seurat's life as he struggles to create his masterwork. In Act Two, set more than a hundred years later, George's great-grandson, also an artist, faces similar challenges and looks to the past to find what it takes to "move on."
The production's opening night was last night, but you can still catch three more performances: tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The performance takes place in 's Lasker Auditorium.
