Uber Driver Rape, Gulf Gas Station Robbery Indictments: DA
The Middlesex DA announced two Newton related indictments today, one of the former Uber Driver accused of raping a passenger in Newton.

NEWTON, MA â The ex-Uber driver accused of raping a passenger earlier this year in Newton and the man who turned himself in after the Gulf gas station on Beacon Street in Newton was robbed were both indicted by grand juries, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan who announced Monday the indictments that took place between between June and July 20 this year. These charges are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Rape: Luis Baez, 34, was charged with rape and failure to appear. The Assistant District Attorney is Kate Kleimola. Baez was the former Uber driver accused of raping one of his passengers the Patch reported earlier.
Armed robbery: Matthew Skinner, 34, of Natick, was charged with masked armed robbery and larceny over $250. The Assistant District Attorney is Radu Brestyan. Skinner turned himself in to police November last year in connection with robbing the Gulf gas station on Beacon Street that month the Patch reported at the time.
