From its initiation as a small, all-male glee club in 1913, the University Chorale of Boston College has grown into a co-ed organization of approximately 150 singers. The second-largest organization at BC, the Chorale is completely student-run and includes undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Jesuits, faculty, and staff.

As the largest singing group on campus and one of the most visible student organizations, the Chorale performs regularly throughout the school year, including in an annual performance with the Boston POPS over Parents’ Weekend and during Commencement.

The Chorale also has the unique opportunity to travel abroad and perform during Spring Break, and the Chorale is the only organization at BC that is permitted to travel aside from service trips. In recent years, we have been fortunate enough to travel to the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, and Ireland.

The Chorale’s repertoire ranges from classical masterpieces to modern works. Composers recently featured include Mozart, Vivaldi, Haydn, Durante, and Benjamin Britten, among others.
