What Do You Think About Unsupervised Swimming at Crystal Lake?

About a month ago, Newton Police and Fire Departments . Fortunately, it seems the incident was a false alarm, but many residents that day expressed concern about unsupervised swimming in the various coves around the lake.
Residents told Patch that day that police patrols have been stepped up, but it has not deterred swimmers from taking a summer dip.
During the Programs and Services Subcommittee meeting tonight, a public hearing will be held on the "regulated but unsupervised" swimming at Cronin's Cove on Crystal Lake. The proposal is being put forward by Deborah Fogel, who sent around a petition on the matter and received more than 50 signatures.
