After Winning $1M, MA Man Repays Good Deed By Splitting With Friend
When his friend refused to accept payment for fixing his son's guitar, Eric Cochrane instead used the money to buy two lottery tickets.

METHUEN, MA — John Galvin's good deed did not go unnoticed after his friend, Eric Cochrane of Methuen, won $1 million through a Massachusetts State Lottery instant ticket game.
In fact, Cochrane repaid Galvin's act of kindness in a big way — by splitting the winnings with him.
It started when Cochrane took his son's guitar to Galvin's store for repair. Knowing Cochrane's son was battling a health issue, Galvin refused to accept payment for the fix.

Undeterred, Cochrane insisted Galvin accept at least $40. When Galvin refused, Cochrane made the decision to purchase two $20 lottery tickets. He told his friend, "If I win $1 million, we are splitting it."
An hour later, they were on their way to Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters to claim their prize.
