The resident went missing while daylight was fading "and the possibility that the individual had entered a heavily wooded wetland area" made time critical, according to police.

An officer and his K9 partner Neo were called in to assist with the search.

"Working through challenging terrain in the Boston Brook wetland area, K9 Neo successfully located the missing resident before nightfall," police said.

"This incident highlights the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork displayed every day by our police officers, firefighters, communication officers and K9 teams. Outstanding work by Officer Sewade, K9 Neo, and everyone who contributed to a successful and safe outcome."
