NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Animal Control Officer Brad DiCenzo is reminding residents and visitors about leash, cleanup and access rules on town property amid complaints about dogs at Bear Hill Reservoir.
DiCenzo reminds residents and visitors that dogs are required to be leashed and under control at all times when they are off their owner's or keeper's property. The rule applies regardless of a dog's size or temperament because some people are not comfortable being approached by an off-leash dog.
The town reminder is intended to support the comfort and safety of others using the area.
Dog owners must clean up after their pets and properly dispose of waste. Residents and visitors are instructed to place waste bags in a trash receptacle or take them home.
Bagged dog waste should not be thrown into the woods under any circumstance.
Town-owned properties may carry additional restrictions. Dog owners are asked to check and follow posted signs before entering school grounds, playgrounds, parks or other town-owned areas with a dog.
Dogs are not permitted on certain town-owned properties.
Those with questions are asked to contact Animal Control Officer DiCenzo at 978-242-1511.
