Athlete of the Week: Karl Stollery

Stollery is the top defenseman and senior captain of the nation's top ranked hockey team.

Karl Stollery of the Merrimack College hockey team is this week’s Athlete of the Week for his major role on the nation’s top ranked squad.

Merrimack has topped the polls now for a week and a half. The Warriors are still the only undefeated team in the nation.

Stollery is tied for second on the team with nine points this year. He has potted three goals and made six assists. Stollery is also tied for the team lead with seven blocked shots.

A native of Camrose, Alberta, Stollery is the team’s captain and its top defenseman. Last year he was one of only five players to play in all of Merrimack’s 35 games.

Stollery, 24 years of age, is a business major at Merrimack. This will be his last year in blue and gold as the senior is expected to graduate in the spring.
