Boosters to Offer Cross-Country this Fall
Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders can run cross-country this fall for an affordable price.

The North Andover Boosters, for the first time ever, will offer cross-country running for middle school students.
Runners will participate in five to six meets throughout the fall season. Each course is between 1.1 and two miles in distance. Courses include everything from grass and earth surfaces to woodlands and open country. Runners are expected to handle both flat ground and hills.
Bill Varney, a key component of the Booster’s spring track program, said “We have a lot of young boys and girls who love to run during the spring, so this will provide them another opportunity to compete and run but in a different venue. The sport is also a nice compliment for training in other sports.”

John Gorman of Whirlaway Running Club will be one of the coaches. Annie Starrett, runner of the Goon Squad Runners, will also be a coach. Starrett is an Assistant Coach for Middle School spring track and Fernando Braz’s Going the Distance training program.
