Boys Cross Country Hits the Trails Tomorrow

The boys meet with Triton tomorrow to start up their 2011 season.

Welcome to the seventh installment of our Scarlet Knights fall sports season preview. Today we look at the North Andover High School boys cross country team.

Last year’s cross country team was lead by Griffen Coakley, Tim Coppa and Alex Sullivan, a trio of great runners, who represented North Andover at last year.

Coakley was North Andover's top finisher in 68th place.

Coppa finished 85th last year finishing the 2.9 mile course in 15:25.4. Sullivan ran a time of 15:51.9, goof for 110th place.

A week prior, it was only a matter of five points that ended up keeping the boys team out of the All-State meet. They finished in fifth at the last year. They were edged out by Lincoln-Sudbury, who was able to clinch the wildcard entry.
