Essex County Police Departments Mourn Sudden Loss Of Sergeant

The Lawrence police sergeant, who had more than 20 years of experience, was a graduate of Andover High School.

LAWRENCE, MA — Police departments around the area are mourning the loss of Lawrence Police Sgt. Charles M. Saindon, who passed away recently following a brief illness. He was a graduate of Andover High School.

Lawrence police posted the following on Facebook:

"Provisional Chief William Castro and Members of the Lawrence Police Department regret to announce the untimely passing of Sgt. Charles M. Saindon who passed away after a brief illness. Sgt Saindon became a Police Officer in October of 2003 following his graduation from the Lowell Police Academy. He was promoted to Sergeant in October of 2021. He leaves his wife and two teenage children. Please join us as we extend our deepest condolences to his wife and children, his entire family, as well as his many friends."

North Andover police also posted regarding the untimely death:

"The North Andover Police Department would like to express its most sincere condolences to the members of the Lawrence Police Department. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Sergeant Charles Saindon during this difficult time. May you rest in peace. EOW 2/26/24"

Andover police posted about the death as well, noting his connections to the community:

"The men and women of the Andover Police Department are deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Sergeant Charles Saindon. Sergeant Saindon was a graduate of Andover High School and was well respected by his Andover friends, as well as his law enforcement peers. We asked that you keep his family in your thoughts during this difficult time."
