Alex Farese Memorial Alumni Meet was a day for memories.
Alex Farese was a young man who collapsed three years ago on the North Andover track during a meet with Hamilton Wenham. His death was caused from an undetected heart defect.
Farese was a bright young man with a great future ahead of him. He co-captained the boys NAHS track team. He was respected and gave respect to each and every team member. Today was a day to celebrate his memory. Every year since his death, family, friends and the NAHS track team walk eight times around this track in his honor. North Andover alumni and present students compete with each other, enjoy good eats and share the moment.
For the first time this year, North Andover Boosters participated in their own events. This event sponsors a scholarship and awareness of heart defects, so other young children with bright futures can reach their dreams. If you would like to donate in his honor go to North Andover Scholarship Foundation.
