BREAKING: Knights Are North Champions

North Andover is on a 22 game winning streak, and tonight they are playing for the MIAA Division 2 North Championship. I am North Andover Patch Sports Editor , and I'll be with you throughout the game providing up-to-the minute updates on all the action.

7:54: This is your Sports Editor Jay Oza signing off from Fraser Field in Lynn. The final score for the final time: North Andover - 4 Lynn Classical - 0. Thanks very much for joining me this evening. 

7:53: Well folks, it has been a magical run for the Knights. Tonight they picked up their 23rd straight win. Check Patch tomorrow for some video highlights, quotes, a full article, and photos from the championship game. 

7:51: Also spoke with head coach Todd Dulin who said the Knights were pressing a bit at the beginning of the game and let some good pitches go. He and the Knights will be riding home back to North Andover with a trophy. 

7:50: I also got the inside scoop from your star of the game Brandon Walsh. He said the Knights are "still hungry" for the state title.

7:48: Just went down on the field for the trophy presentation. The Knights were excited but they still have work to do. On Wednesday in Braintree, they will play in the MIAA Division 2 State Semifinals. A win would put them in their first state championship in school history. 

7:39: The Knights are the Division 2 North Champions! A line drive right to Mike Weisman ends the game. North Andover wins 4-0. 

7:38: Huebert Segura hits a single. Two on with two out.

7:37: Walsh picks up his 11th strikeout! The Knights are one out away!

7:35: Base hit for Greg Rybak of Lynn Classical. It was an opposite field line drive to right field. Lynn Classical is still alive with one out and Jorge Perez at the plate. 

7:33: Walsh picks up his 10th strikeout. One out, and the Knights are two outs away from the title. 

7:32: Foote pops out. Coulliard was running on the pitch so he is doubled up at second base. That ends the sixth inning and we now move on to the top of the 7th. Brandon Walsh is out there to try and clinch this thing. Lynn Classical needs four runs to tie.

7:30: Foote steals second base. Coulliard now with an RBI opportunity. 

7:29: David Foote hits a ground ball to shortstop. Lynn Classical gets the lead runner but Foote beats the throw at first base. One out, bottom 6. Knights still up 4-0 with Cam Coulliard at bat. 

7:28: Rick O'Connor hits a base hit on the ground through the right side. Griffin Coakley comes in to pinch run. 

7:25: Walsh strikes out the side for the second time in the game. 9 Ks for Walsh and North Andover is now 3 defensive outs away from winning this thing. We move to the bottom of the 6th.

7:23: Eight strikeouts for Walsh. Finnigan goes down swinging. Angel Tavarez will try to get a two out rally going.

7:22: Devin draws a walk and John Finnigan is up with one out and one runner on. 

7:21: Walsh has his seventh strikeout as Feliz goes down swinging. One down, top 6 with Kyle Devin at the plate. 

7:18: Brandon Walsh back out on the mound for the top of the 6th. Knights are six defensive outs from winning this thing. North Andover fans are singing "Sweet Caroline." Senior captain Wilfredo Feliz is up to lead things off here in in the 6th. 

7:16: 4-0 Knights. Nicolosi hits a ground ball to the second baseman Huebert Segura. Segura boots the ball and Walsh is able to score from second. Lynn Classical has four errors and has paid for them all. Dan Laorenza flies out to right field to end the inning.

7:15: Walsh crushes the ball into the left field corner. He is at second base with a double. Dom Nicolosi will now try to drive him in with two down. 

7:13: Walsh was hit by the pitch, but the umpire sayshe was in the strike zone. That is the second consecutive game that this has happened. Coach Dulin out to argue but no dice. Walsh still up with a 2-2 count and two outs. 

7:12: Leavitt pops out to shallow left. Brandon Walsh at the plate now with two down. 

7:11: Bottom of the 5th now with Alec Jillson leading off. He hits a line drive to the shortstop for the first out. Tyler Leavitt now up with one down. 

7:09: The winner of tonight's game moves on to the MIAA State Semifinals against either Plymouth North or Somerset. The game will be on Wednesday at Braintree High School at 7 p.m.

7:07: Brandon Walsh just struck out Huebert Segura. That was perhaps his biggest strikeout of the season, it was his seventh in this game. Walsh then got Kyler Gauthier to hit a soft ground ball for the third out of the inning. Knights maintain their 3-0 lead as Walsh gets himself out of a bases loaded jam. We move to the bottom of the fifth now with North Andover six defensive outs away from the North Title. 

7:05: Jorge Perez hits a line drive base hit into right field. The bases are now loaded only one out here in the top of the 5th. Knights are still up 3-0, for now. 

7:03: Greg Rybak has a base hit as he popped one up into right center field that found the grass. One Out here in the top of the 5th with runners on first and second for Lynn Classical. North Andover's pitching coach will take a visit to the mound to settle down Walsh. 

7:02: Francisco Tolentino draws a walk with one out. That was Walsh's second walk of the game. Tolentino comes out for a pinch runner, Sammy Rios. 

6:59: One out as Angel Tavares hits a line drive caught by the left-fielder. 

6:57: Mike Weisman pops out to the third baseman for the third out. Two runners stranded. We move to the top of 5th inning. North Andover has a 3-0 lead. 

6:54: Foote steals second base and the catcher goes out for a mound conference. Cam Coulliard draws a walk. Runners on first and second with two outs. The Lynn Classical coach will come out to the mound and the entire infield will join in on the conference. Knights have scored two runs here in the bottom of the 4th. 

6:53: 3-0 Knights. Foote hit a ground ball to the shortstop Wilfredo Feliz. The ball just ate up Feliz and rolled into left center. North Andover now leads bu three runs as Coakley scored from second. That was Lynn Classical's third error. 

6:52: Coakley steals second base. Foote will now try to drive him in with two outs here in the 4th. 

6:50: Dan Laorenza struck out swining for the second out. Griffin Coakley then hit a ground ball to the third baseman, but he beat the throw at first base for an infield hit. David Foote is at the plate now with two outs. 

6:49: 2-0 North Andover adds another run. Nicolosi ripped a double down the right field line that was just fair. Brandon Walsh scored all the way from first base. Nicolosi was thrown at at third trying to stretch it into a triple. One down here in the bottom of the fourth.

6:48: Walsh hit a line drive base hit through the left side. He's on first with Dom Nicolosi at the plate. 

6:46: Most exciting play of the ballgame thus far: Lynn Classical ripped a base hit right up the middle. North Andover centerfielder David Foote threw out Kyle Devin at the plate who was trying to score from second base for the third out of the inning. North Andover still clinging to its 1-0 lead. We enter the bottom of the fourth inning with pitcher Brandon Walsh in the box to lead things off. 

6:43: Lynn Classical finally has its first hit. Kyle Devin ripped a double into the game in left center field.

6:42: A ground ball to first base for the first out and Walsh's sixth strikeout for the second out. Two down in the top of 4th with North Andover leading 1-0. 

6:37: Leavitt hit a line drive that was caught by the left fielder for the third out. Moving on to the top of the fourth here at Fraser Field. The Knights lead this one 1-0 thanks to two errors by Lynn Classical in the second inning. 

6:35: Weisman rips a base hit on the ground through the right side. Alec Jillson just popped out to shallow right-center. Tyler Leavitt at the plate now with two outs and a runner on first in the bottom of the 3rd. 

6:33: Coulliard flies out to center for the first out. Mike Weisman steps into the batter's box. 

6:32: A foul pop-out to the catcher ends the top of the third. Walsh is yet to give up a hit. Bottom of the 4th is upcoming with Cam Coulliard leading off. 

6:30: Walsh picked up his fifth strikeout for the first out. Then Griffin Coakley made a fine play in foul territory to catch a pop-out. 

6:27: Foote is retired for the third out of the inning, but Brandon Walsh now has a one run lead to work with. Top of the 3rd is coming up. 

6:25: 1-0 North Andover takes the lead. Coakley hit an easy grounder to the third baseman. Another error as Francisco Toletino could not make the play at the hot corner. Two down with the bases loaded in the  bottom of the second. David Foote, the top of the order, comes up to bat. 

6:24: Laorenza hit an easy ground ball to the left side, but the shortstop booted it! That has been scored an error. Bases loaded with two outs for Griffin Coakley the senior second baseman. 

6:21: Walsh goes down swinging for the second out. Then Dom Nicolosi ripped a ground ball base hit through the right side. Runners on first and second with two outs for Dan Laorenza here in the bottom of the 2nd. 

6:19: Tyler Leavitt hit a grounder to second base. Defense gets the lead runner on second but can't turn the double play. Runner on first with one out. Bottom 2nd with Brandon Walsh at the plate. 

6:17: Alec Jillson at the dish for North Andover and he has himself the first hit of the ballgame. The ball fell in left center field right in between the leftfielder, centerfielder, and shortstop.

6:16: Easy grounder over to first base. Weisman makes the play and we head to the bottom of the 2nd. 

6:15: Walsh picks up his fourth strikeout. Two out, top 2nd. 

6:14: Finnigan was just caught stealing! One down. 

6:13: We've got our first baserunner of the game. John Finnigan drew a walk for Lynn Classical. No outs in the top of the second. 

6:10: Mike Weisman just struck out swinging. One inning in the books here at Fraser Field. 

6:09: Cam Coulliard flied out to center. Two outs in the bottom of the first. 

6:06: David Foote lead for the Knights in the bottom of the first. He flied out to shallow right field. One out. 

6:04: Walsh struck out the side! Lynn Classical's pitcher Jorge Perez is now warming up. 

6:01: Two outs in the top of the first. Brandon Walsh is on the mound for the Knights and he struck out the first two batters of the game. 

5:57: Starting lineups were just announced and we are about five minutes away from the first pitch of the ballgame.
