Brian: After graduating from Merrimack I spent a year subbing in Lawrence, then moving to Greater Lawrence Tech where I was a long term sub in Math, Gym, Bio, and Special Ed. My undergrad like I said is in history from Merrimack, I have a masters in teaching history from Salem State, and a masters in athletic administration from Endicott. I have been in North Andover for five years now.

Patch: What is your favorite part about teaching in North Andover?

Brian: I would have to say the kids.

Patch: Do you have any favorite teaching strategies or procedures in the classroom?

Brian: In my Sports of the Past class we learn about the history of a sport and then actually go out and play an earlier form of the game.  I think that the hands on experience allows kids to see why and how the game changed over time.

Patch: What inspired you to become a teacher?

Brian: My parents. Both of them were teachers in Lawrence.  I saw how much they meant to their students and I wanted a job that would be meaningful.
