Merrimack Cross Country Teams Open Season Regionally Ranked

The following was submitted by Brad Davis of Merrimack College.

The women’s cross country team is ranked seventh in the USTFCCA East Regional Rankings to open 2011, while the men’s squad is ranked tenth regionally.

Fueled by strong recruiting classes, both squads are expected to improve off their 2010 finish, which saw the men place 11th in the conference and the women finish sixth.

The women represent the sixth Northeast-10 team in the rankings, as the conference earned eight of the top spots, led by Stonehill and Southern Connecticut finishing first and second.
