Music Students Represent North Andover in NE MA Honors Band

Students from North Andover Middle School and High School took part in the 5th annual Northeast MA Honors Band program this spring.

North Andover music students performed in the Northeast Massachusetts Honors Youth Wind Ensemble, and the Honors Middle School Concert Band at the Galvin Middle School in Wakefield on June 2nd. The program provides a unique opportunity for outstanding wind and percussion students from many area communities to rehearse and perform together, and has been jointly conducted by Dr. Bradley P. Ethington, Director of Bands at Syracuse University, and Mr. Thomas Bankert, Director of Bands at Wakefield High School since its beginning in 2014.

Nominated by North Andover Middle School band directors Chris Nelson and Matt Ignos were 8th grade students Kyle Burns, Conor Fanuele, Catherine Gilligan, Natalie Harwood, Marie Hearst, Alex Kissel, Jacob Leising, Maria Mangiamelli, Tyler Murray, Nicholas Raposo, and Meghan Tulloch.

Returning by invitation to perform with the Honors Youth Wind Ensemble were North Andover High School students Mena Abbay, Michael Ando, Brian Beasley, Christopher Beasley, Ryan Burns, Emma Buyea, Connor Curtin, Sara Curtin, Owen Ferguson, Supraja Ganti, Evangeline Gosselin, Katie Kooken, Ben Leising, Claire Mezzina, Katelyn Murphy, Michael Raizin, Eli Ralph, Elliot Schoonmaker, and Clarence Yeh.
