Nine Merrimack Spring Athletes Named to Northeast-10 All-Academic Team

Nine student-athletes from the 2011 spring season were named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic team.
Baseball and men’s tennis each had two honorees, while softball, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, men’s outdoor track, and women’s outdoor track had one each.
Mark O’Flynn of Ipswich and Joe Mantoni of Hopedale represented the baseball team, while Petar Golijanin of Novi Sad, Serbia and Tim McHugh of Edgartown were named from the tennis team.

Monique Gosselin of Lawrence was selected from softball, while Corey Luney of Little Silver, N.J., and Colleen Strachan of Bedford represented the lacrosse squads.
Peter Early of Haverhill and Rachel Lozeau of Nashua, N.H., rounded out Merrimack’s representation, earning selection from the men’s and women’s outdoor track teams.

To be eligible for the all-academic teams, student-athletes must have a 3.3 cumulative GPA or higher, must have been a significant contributor on his or her team, and must be a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student. From there, student-athletes are voted on by a committee selected by the Northeast-10.
