North Andover Fire Wins $7K In State Funds For Education
The state awarded the department two grants, one for senior education and one for student education.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The North Andover Fire Department was awarded over $7,000 by the state for education, according to a communication in next week's Board of Selectmen Agenda. The money is split between two grants: $4,565.00 for Student Awareness of Fire Education (S.A.F.E.) and $2,552.00 for Senior SAFE grants. The selectmen will vote on whether to accept the grants at their Monday meeting.
"We look forward to working with you and your community on this public fire and life safety initiative," Governor Charlie Baker and Lt. Governor Karen Polito wrote in a letter informing Chief William McCarthy of the award.
The Board will also decide whether to accept a $75 check to the department from David Stroh. The full agenda is available here.
