North Andover Merchants Association Fall Festival

Letter to the Editor

On September 27th the North Andover Merchants Association held our 4th Annual Fall Festival. The Fall Festival was originally organized as a way to create more opportunities for our local businesses, while also bringing our community together for a day of fun. This year’s event included big changes, most notably the new location of the event at the Town Common. NAMA is excited to say that this year’s Festival was our largest yet - in more ways than one!

The 2014 Festival attracted approximately 70 businesses selling goods, offering services, and educating the public on what area businesses have to offer. With pumpkin decorating, scarecrow building, face painting, carnival games with prizes, pony rides, free bounce houses, and live performances throughout the day, our 7,000 guests were treated to a family-fun day in our Town Center.

The Fall Festival does serve as a fundraiser for the North Andover Merchants Association. Each year NAMA seeks to reinvest these funds into our community to enhance our town. I am excited to say that the success of this year’s Festival means our business organization will be donating approximately $7,000 worth of new, desperately needed, computers to the North Andover Middle School’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program.

When the North Andover Merchants Association formed it was to support our local businesses and encourage consumers to “Stay Local, Shop Locally.” I am proud of the growth of this movement, and the loyalty our residents continue to show our small businesses. Just as our residents have shown such a commitment in investing in us, we in NAMA are proud to invest in our town. The Fall Festival is one of the best examples of this partnership. On behalf of our membership, thank you.
