Parishioner of St. Michael's in North Andover and she was an active member of the town's senior center.

Obituary from Conte Funeral Home.

Marie Pellegrino, the most beautiful soul, passed away on Thanksgiving Day at Sutton Hill
Nursing Home where she was a resident for several years at the age of 94.
Marie was the daughter of Ignatio and Francesca DiMaggio. She was born in Lawrence on
January 27, 1920. One of eight children, Marie learned the importance of working hard and
taking care of her family. She graduated from Lawrence High School in 1938 and later from
Fazio School of Cosmetology. She opened her first salon on Hampshire Street in Lawrence and
in 1956, her dream came true when her hard work and determination allowed her to open the
Village Beauty Salon in North Andover, which she owned and operated for over 30 years.
When she retired, Marie and her husband Jack, enjoyed traveling with their church, St.
Michael’s in North Andover and she was an active member of the Town’s Senior Center. You
could always find Marie in the kitchen, preparing for the annual spaghetti supper or teaching
her weekly knitting classes at the center. Knitting and crocheting were her passion and she
bestowed her beautiful creations to both family and friends and donated many afghans to both
nursing homes and hospitals. She also made prayer shawls for her church.
During her stay at Sutton Hill, she warmed the hearts of both the residents and the staff with
her pleasant and uncomplaining way. She would throw kisses to all or sing a song and always
expressed her gratitude to those who helped her. She was a kind and loving lady who warmed
the hearts of all who met her.
Marie is predeceased by her husband Jack Pellegrino, her brothers, Thomas, Joseph, John and
Peter DiMaggio, her sisters, Sally DiMaggio, Marion Ferrante, and Lucy Raimondo. Marie is
survived by her beloved daughter, Jacqueline and son‐in‐law James Ronsivalli of North Andover,
