OUI Charges Coming In Fatal Tow Driver Crash: Report

The woman who allegedly caused the fatal crash is expected to be charged in her hospital bed with drunk driving.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA — The woman who allegedly caused the crash that killed a North Andover tow truck driver will be charged with drunk driving, according to a report from WHDH. She is expected to be charged from her hospital bed.

At least five cars were involved in the crash that killed 41-year-old Daniel Coady while he was outside his tow truck late Wednesday night. Coady worked for his family's Lawrence-based company Coady's Towing. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said the tow truck was responding to a two-car crash when a 2007 Pontiac G6 struck an unoccupied BMW in the breakdown lane. The car hit the left side of the tow truck and the driver, who was standing beside it loading a car from the earlier crash.

The driver of the Pontiac, a 28-year-old Lawrence woman was seriously injured and taken to Lowell General Hospital. She's the one expected to be charged Friday.
