Police: Not The First Time North Andover Man Choked Victim

Colby Dion, 24, of North Andover, was bitten by a police dog after refusing to come out of a wooded area.

NORTH ANDOVER, MA -- The man accused of choking another wedding guest at a Salem, NH bar had been arrested a week earlier for recklessly endangering the same victim in Connecticut. Colby Dion, 24, of North Andover, was arrested after Salem, NH Police responded to a call of six men in suits chasing another man in a suit at Sayde's Bar and Grill Saturday night. The victim "refused to make a statement and denied any wrongdoing" when questioned by police, even though there were faint red marks around her neck.

When they were unable to locate Dion in a wooded area, police ordered him to come out with his hands up. When he didn't surrender, a police dog was released. "The dog was released and Dion was bit," according to a police report. "Dion stated he hid because he didn't want to get into trouble, even though he knew Salem police were looking for him."

Dion denied harming the victim. Earlier this month, he was charged with reckless endangerment in Connecticut, according to the Eagle-Tribune, which first reported this story.
