Preschool Event Spans Four Generations in Local Family

The following was submitted by the Community Cooperative Preschool.

The (CCP) has been established in the North Andover community for over 35 years. For nearly that long, CCP has held an annual Relative’s Tea Party, where the students invite one guest to take part in a spring tea party at the school. This year, the tea party spanned four generations for one local family.

Katie Graham was once a student of CCP.  “What I remember most of all was the feeling that preschool was an exciting and interesting place to be,” says Graham. “At the time, CCP had a workbench, where we could (with very close supervision, of course!) use hammers and nails and paint to create things out of old scrap wood.  I loved building things and taking them home to show off to my parents.”

When it came time for Graham to look for a preschool for her son, her mother quickly encouraged a co-op, and more specifically, CCP. According to Graham, her mother loved having the opportunity to participate in her preschool experience, and encouraged her to look into it for Ryan.

Although CCP relocated over five years ago to the lower-level of St. Paul’s Parish on Main Street (no affiliation), the school remains the same in that the bond between family and school is highly encouraged. Each month, Katie or her husband volunteer in the school as a “Parent Assist.” It is then that they see how Ryan socializes with other children his own age and interacts with teachers.
