Superintendent: School Hearings Held for Prom Pot Brownies
Superintendent Chris Hottel announced that hearings were held by the school administration regarding the recent pot brownie incident at the high school junior prom.

students have already been disciplined by the school for the recent incident involving according to Superintendent Chris Hottel, who announced that the school administration has completed its investigation and held the required hearings.
"Students who were found to have taken part in the incident have been issued disciplinary consequences consistent with the student handbook," Hottel wrote in a statement. "In addition, there is an appeal process which leads from the initial decision by the Assistant Principals to the Principal and then to the Superintendent."
Hottel did not go into specifics about who the students were, what disciplinary action was taken against the students or whether or not he would alter of rescind any of the decisions made by Principal Carla Scuzzarella or the vice principals.

"This unfortunate incident is an example of what can happen when a group of young people make a bad decision," Hottel said. "Consequences can be far-reaching, for the individual students involved as well as for the school and the community as a whole."
Police are still investigating the pot brownies incident, along with the Essex County District Attorney's office, and students involved could face criminal charges.
