TEN-YEAR-OLD SELLS HANDMADE BRACELETS AND RETURNS BIRTHDAY PRESENT TO DONATE MONEY TO LOCAL NONPROFIT

Windrush Farm was proud to be the recipient of $210 thanks to the generosity and thoughtfulness of a ten-year-old girl.
Danielle Seifer, of Andover, began taking horseback riding lessons at
Windrush Farm the spring of 2013. She fell in love with both the farm and the horses after watching the amazing miracles they perform on a daily basis working with clients with disabilities. Knowing she had to help, Danielle came up with a plan. She and her cousin began handcrafting “survivor bracelets” to benefit the farm. The girls handcrafted more than 70 bracelets and sold them to neighbors,
relatives, and even stood outside local stores to catch community members.
After raising significant funds, Danielle decided she still wanted to
do more. Her mom had given Danielle an American Doll for her birthday but Danielle decided she would rather return it to the store and donate the cash to Windrush Farm. Even the staff at the American Doll store were amazed and touched by Danielle’s selflessness.
Danielle raised $210 for Windrush Farm to use to purchase supplies for the horses. “We’re touched Danielle’s generosity and selflessness,” shares Windrush program director, Jenna Turcotte. “She is such an inspiration to the community – showing that anyone, young or old, can make a difference if you just put your mind to it.”
