Three Local Skating Opportunities
Spend an afternoon skating with the Warriors, Santa, or your friends and family.
The holidays are synonymous with ice skating.
Some prefer the fast action of hockey and some enjoy the elegance and grace of figure skating. Whatever be the case, there are some of us that are truly at home on skates.
Casual skating is great exercise and an excellent opportunity to work out your legs. Skating can be invigorating and precise or also relaxed and leisurely. So if you haven’t laced up in a while or need to get in the holiday spirit, check out one of these great skating opportunities.

1. Skate with Santa and the Warriors
on the campus of has seen some incredible games in the last few years. The Warriors have had a great home record and soared to the top ranking in the nation recently. On Saturday, December 17th, fans will have the opportunity to skate on the Lawler Arena ice.

The Warriors, ranked 5th nationally, host Union at 4pm. After the game, Merrimack will open the rink up to allow kids of all ages to skate with members of the Merrimack hockey team and Santa himself.
After the game, kids are invited to enjoy cookies and hot chocolate free of charge.
Phillips’ ice rink facilities are some of the best in the area. The double sheet facility features the Harrison Rink, a larger NHL sized rink and the South Rink which is also NHL sized but has less room for seating.
The rink at in Andover requires you to become a member before you can attend their Open Skate sessions. It costs $35 to open up a membership.
Open Skate is held Monday through Friday from 11:30am to 1pm. Open Skate is also open on Sundays from 1:30 to 2:50. The cost of admission to Open Skate sessions is $6.
’ rink is now proud to offer a public skating night thanks to a sponsorship from the North Andover Youth Center. Through February 26th, the rink will be available for Sunday Night Public Skating.
The cost of admission is $3. Rentals are not available at these events. Public Skating is from 6:40 to 8:50pm on Sunday nights.
