On a windy and cold Saturday afternoon in Newburyport the North Andover Fire (U12) girls soccer team won a physical match, 2-0, over the Newburyport Lightning!
The Fire scored first on shot from the left wing by Peyton Sportelli. Molly Connolly added the assist after fighting to regain the ball. Izzy Ceraso netted the second goal with hard left footed shot after evading the Newburyport defense with her footskills.
The Fire was led by it’s normally stingy defense led by Riley Cinquegrano, Eva Sauls, Liz Steinberg, & Madi Landry.
The Fire resume play next weekend against a tough Peabody team.
