Selectmen Meeting: Halloween Hours, Winterlights Liquor Permit
Selectmen will hear the revised request Monday, as well as police recommendation of 5:30 to 7:30 Oct. 31 Halloween hours.
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — North Andover selectmen will hear a revised request for a special alcohol permit from the Stevens-Coolidge Place Oct. 21, after pushing back on the initial request at their previous meeting. The new request covers only Fridays and Saturdays during Winterlights, the garden holiday light event, according to the agenda. Organizers want to serve cocoa and cider with liquor at the event, in its second year, but residents complained that four days a week was too expansive a request for a special permit in a residential area.
"The Stevens-Coolidge Place will reduce our request for liquor licenses to two (2) per week for our Winterlights Festival, which runs November 21 to December 29, from 5-8 pm in a good faith effort as part of the North Andover community," said Stevens-Coolidge Place Director Katherine MacDonald in her revised request.
The agenda also includes Police Chief Charles Gray's recommendation that Halloween trick-or-treat hours be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the 31st.

The selectmen/licensing board meeting is Monday at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
