Writings Found At Methuen School Under Investigation

Officers will be at Presentation of Mary Academy on Thursday.

METHUEN, MA – Police in Methuen are investigating a threat made against Presentation of Mary Academy. The threat was specific to the PMA, Methuen Police Chief Joseph Solomon said.

According to the Eagle-Tribune, writings were found on the wall on Wednesday, and an investigation is underway to determine if a threat is "credible."

Officers will be at the school Thursday. Classes have been delayed until 8:25 a.m., NECN reported.

In a statement Thursday morning, Solomon said his department is taking the necessary precautions to ensure students' safety.

"We are here. We will be there with them," Solomon said. "If we thought they shouldn't have been here we would've canceled school."

Presentation of Mary Academy is a co-ed college preparatory school in Methuen.
