2 Injured In Serious Head-On Crash On Route 20 In Northborough

NORTHBOROUGH, MA — A serious head-on crash closed Route 20 near the Northborough Police Station on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened near 211 Main St and sent two people to UMass Memorial Medical Center’s University Campus in Worcester, according to the Northborough Fire Department. One patient suffered serious injuries, and one driver had to be extricated using the Jaws of Life.

One Northborough Fire Department ambulance was handling another call when the crash occurred. That crew became available and responded, allowing the department to manage the incident without requesting mutual aid.

Police did not release the drivers’ identities or provide information about what caused the crash.
