Annual Tree Lighting Caps Off the Northborough Holiday Trolley

The annual event is the grand finale to the Holiday Trolley, and in honor of Neil Ellsworth.

Submitted by the Northborough Community Affairs Committee

The Northborough Annual Tree Lighting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, starting at 5 p.m. at the corner of Blake Street and Route 20. This year’s celebration will feature the Hundredth Town Chorus singing holiday carols, holiday bells for the children to ring, hot cocoa and cookies (while supplies last), and local merchants.

The annual tree lighting began in 1968 in honor of the memory of Neil Ellsworth, an Army private first class, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967 at the age of 19.
