Assabet's Breakfast With Santa
Santa made a stop at Assabet Valley for the Immaculate Conception School Breakfast
Submitted by Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School
The place to be on Saturday morning was the cafeteria, the site of the 2011 Immaculate Conception School “Breakfast with Santa.”
Hundreds of people streamed in throughout the morning, and stayed for the fun. Rob Pierce and crew were busy in the kitchen, cooking eggs, pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, and ham, while Jenn Murphy kept things running like clockwork in the main cafeteria.
From face painting and tattoos to a cake walk and craft tables, the younger children were kept busy and laughing. The adults perused the beautiful gift baskets they’d like to win, all filled with donated items, from a Kuerig coffee maker or a Bose radio to American Girl dolls.

Of course, the highlight of the morning was the arrival of Santa Claus, amid the delighted squeals of the wee ones. Eyes were shining and promises were made as they scrambled to sit on his lap and rattle off their lists.
Assabet Valley’s Principal’s Leadership Team were on hand as volunteers at the various children’s tables and on the serving line.

“This was one of our best events, to be sure,” announced Martin Levins, one of the organizers of the annual event. “We had definitely outgrown our previous site, and were delighted that we were able to use the Assabet Valley facility. We’ve already asked to book it for Dec. 1 for next year.”
