Backpack Drive Needs Your Support

School is winding down for this school year, but the Seventh Northborough Backpack Drive for the 2014-2015 school year is working towards its goal.

Once again, Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc. and Northborough Moms and Tots are teaming up to provide backpacks to students in need in the Northborough public schools. Last year, a total of 100 backpacks were requested.

We rely on the generosity of area businesses and organizations, as well as individual contributions to make this effort a success each year.  Here’s how you can help:

Make a monetary donation (checks should be made payable to Northborough Helping Hands Assoc. Inc.) and mailed to PO Box 383, Northborough, MA 01532. Be sure to make a note that the contribution is for the backpack drive.

Gift cards to stores are also welcomed and will be used towards the purchase of school supplies.

Donate new school supplies to the Drive.  There will be two Northborough drop-off locations:  43 Ridge Rd. (bin will be on front porch) or Marlborough Savings Bank, 101 West Main St., Northborough.

Your donations will be used 100% towards the effort. Northborough Helping Hands is a recognized 501(c)(3) charity and your monetary donation is tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law.

With your donation, you will receive special recognition in our post project press releases, on our Web site, and on a flyer which will be included with the distribution of the supplies.

Please view our website for more information on the effort and upcoming fundraisers. The deadline for monetary donations is June 30, 2014.

No donation is too small. You can make a difference for a student to have a positive start to a new school year in the fall!
