Thought and Poem – December 22, 2014
It always seems to be that when we have a tummy full of good food that while we sit at the table with our friends and family, we have what it takes to be peaceful and enjoy each other’s company. Not long after the dishes have been done and the food has been put away, the tables begin to turn and we already begin to forget about the oneness in spirit we had all just felt. Still for the few moments that generate warmness in our hearts, we all wish we could hang on to these good feelings forever.
Shortly after we leave the table and sit together in the living room or den, we being talking among ourselves and the differences of opinions start to roll off our tongues. The rule of thumb for as long as I can remember is that NO ONE should bring up the subject of Religion, Politics, Red Sox/Yankees or New England Patriots at any gatherings! Talk about the weather, talk about the kiddies and their kiddies, talk about the pets, and talk about anything…BUT…Religion, Politics, Red Sox/Yankees or New England Patriots.

If you are one who feels you have the right to speak your mind about anything and do not care about the feelings of those in the room around you, then you well know how wars have started all down through history. So now instead of the good feelings we felt after a good meal, for those who did not listen to the rule of thumb…peace just flew out the door. Quick, bring on the desserts!
What about you? When you have a good meal with your family and friends and all consider the feelings of one another, do ever you feel if we ALL did this worldwide that perhaps there could be peace on Earth? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

Being Thankful Could Lead to Peace
Around this time of the year it seems,
Just after many are “thankful” for their bounties,
That people begin to think about how to attain peace,
So that people all over the world can live in harmony.
It is really not that hard to attain,
To the oneness that should have been there among all people
Before they started to ruling over their domain.
We all have what it takes to give this a running start…
As we were all born with a potential to give love from our “HEARTS.”
No need to deprive…
No reasons why we need to kill and living things die…
No reason why we can get along…
The Earth was given for all mankind…so it is here we all belong.
So can you do your part?
Open up your heart?
That while we are being “thankful”
We might also find a way to be “peaceful?”
