Car Decides to Flip on Its Own in the Driveway

A car owner was surprised to find his car had taken a drive off a stone wall by itself.

It's not often that the daily police report includes an incident that reads "car flips over in driveway." That was the case on Thursday, May 30, when Officer Jeremy Trefry responded to a call to a house at 9 Monument Drive, where a resident reported his car had taken a dive over a stone wall by itself.

Trefrey wrote in his report that when he arrived at the home, he spotted a black Volkswagen Jetta on its roof at the end of the driveway. The owner told him he had parked the car about 15 minutes before it flipped.

Turns out, the owner hadn't pulled the parking brake, and the car had a standard transmission. To relaliate, the Jetta rolled backward and tumbled over a stone wall onto its back.
