Carly O'Connell Heads to U-Oregon on a Lacrosse Scholarship
Algonquin sports star headed to University of Oregon.
Now a senior at Algonquin Regional High School, O'Connell plays soccer, basketball and lacrosse. She recently signed a letter of intent, officially committing to the University of Oregon on a lacrosse scholarship.
Favorite career athletic moment: Winning the Central Mass. Finals last year in basketball against our rivals Shrewsbury, because we were the underdogs. Also, we had worked so hard that season and it felt so good to accomplish something that had never been done before for Algonquin girls b-ball.
Some stats: In soccer, this year O'Connell got ten goals and six assists. In lacrosse, she had 84 goals and 53 assists.

Future goals: I would like to go as far as possible for basketball and lacrosse in my Algonquin seasons.
Next up: Soccer ended, Algonquin losing to rivals Shrewsbury, "but we are into basketball and the team looks great. We have a good group of girls working together already."

What’s on your iPod? I usually listen to rap, hip hop, and techno, but I enjoy listening to all sorts of music.
Outside of school: I love to golf at my country club. I love to ski and snowboard with friends and family since I have been since I was two years old. I also enjoy longboarding around my neighborhood.
