Thought and Poem

Thought and Poem – December 10, 2014

At some point in our lives, whether it is before we graduate from high school, or after we have spent our younger years raising our families…we all wish to have our “dreams” fulfilled. What would life be like if we did not have dreams?

We begin dreaming about what our lives will be like from the moment we could share our thoughts with others. We (I) wanted to be a cowboy, a nurse, a mom and at one point I wished I was a bird so that I could fly to wherever I wanted to go on this earth.

As we age, our dreams become more realistic. We want to go to college, get married, travel the world by plane or by sea, and we set our dreams on becoming teachers, doctors, engineers and we look forward to being able to work in the career of our choice.

Then no matter how old we get, we have those inner most dreams and goals that we hope to accomplish before it is too late. We want to write, to learn an instrument, to make quilts, learn to knit, build our dream houses, have a flower garden and things such as these. Personal goals that we know will make us feel good about ourselves knowing we had the opportunity to reach and accomplish our desires...

For some, setting goals to be reached is difficult because others snuff out the flames of desires with excuses that they do not have the strength or the power to make their dreams come true. However, dreams never fade away unless we allow ourselves to lose sight of such dreams. From the onset of our desire to accomplish that special something, we have to believe that someday we will succeed and have the satisfaction that comes from seeing our dreams become realities and no one will be able to stop us. Look out dreams here we come!

What about you? Do you still have childhood dreams that you are looking forward to accomplishing someday? Share your thoughts with us…Jeanne Claire Probst

Do You Believe?

The word, “believe” is so powerful,
It can send us rays of strength and allows us to reach mountain like goals.
It can make a weak person feel “strong,”
And can give us that motivating determination which helps us to keep moving on.

Often we let others knock us around,
And where they don’t succeed, some other trial we face in life may land us on the ground.
We may stay down for some time, when we feel trying is too tough,
But if we “believe,” we will muster up the courage and find the strength we need to get up.

I’ve seen this happen in my own life a time or two,
One problem after another kept me void of accomplishing anything I wanted to do.
Then I realized that it was not good for me to just hand over my control,
So I was determined that I was going to break through all negative barriers and made positive my goal.

Even though life still tends to throw me for a loop at times, and more often than I can want to say,
I “believe” that I am worth all the trying I have to do that will keep me thinking in a positive way.
And I “believe” that if you can find the strength to “believe” in yourself,
What you gain, a sense of self-worth, is more valuable than anything else.
