Between the Wars: Three Eventful Eras in Northborough History

The Northborough Historical Society will hold its last monthly meeting of the season on Friday, May 20, 2011. The evening will begin with a Pot Luck Supper at 6:30. Members and the public are invited to bring their favorite dish and gather for an old-fashioned supper. The society’s meeting will begin following the supper at 7:30 pm, followed by the evening’s program, “Between the Wars: Three Eventful Eras in Northborough History: a look back at a trio of significant periods in town and national history,” presented by Ellen Racine (Museum Curator), Kathy Pierce and Cindy Atwood.

Three knowledgeable citizens of their day will offer their recollections of the changing times between the Civil War, World I and World War II.  The citizens, Ellen Chapin, Dorothy Rose and Alice Shattuck, will be portrayed by society members Ellen Racine, Kathy Pierce and Cindy Atwood. Seldom-seen artifacts from the Northborough Historical Museum will be displayed during the program.

Meetings are held at the Historical Society building, 50 Main Street (corner of Main and School Streets) in Northborough. There is no charge to attend. All are welcome.
