Metal Clay 102 – Introduction to Metal Clay: Hand-painted silver leaves

In this fun and relaxing class, you will learn the basics of working with metal clay and organic matter to create a beautiful pendant and earring set. You will be shown how to use your choice of leaves to texture fine silver clay. Then you will sand and embellish your pieces which will be fired in a kiln. You will finish your pieces by brushing and polishing them and then will be shown how to hand paint your silver leaves with alcohol inks. You will also be shown how to create your own sterling silver ear wires and finish your pendant with either a bail or a jump ring. The end result will be a stunning set of fine silver jewelry you will be proud to wear.

This is a 100 level basic class. No prior experience required.

This six hour program is offered on Saturdays, from 10-5 with a one hour lunch break.

Cost is $110 plus a materials fee of approximately $25-50 – Class size is small to allow for individual attention.
