The Melican School held its "Museum Night," featuring more than 600 pieces by middle school students.
The Robert E. Melican School held its annual Museum Night last week, featuring at least one piece of art by every student in the school. Science teachers from all three grades display students' Science Fair projects, there are musical/choral concerts, and foreign language teachers put out Spanish and French food for families to enjoy, according to art teacher Diane Mariano.
The works lined the hallways and classrooms, ranging from pencil art to mosaics to sculptures and paper mache.
"It's a night that the school holds every year," Mariano said, "usually at the end of May or the very beginning of June, where the school is filled with different displays of work done by students in different subjects. I, personally, as the only art teacher at Melican, display one piece of artwork from every student in the school, which is about 650 pieces."
