Apple-picking season is here - so where do you go?

Here’s a list of some pick-your-own orchards near Northborough. In addition to pick-your-own, most orchards sell fresh-picked apples at a farmstand and also have other activities. The season got off to an early start and picking generally lasts through early to mid-October.

Berlin Orchards

• Where: Route 62, Berlin
• When: Daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• Details: Presently picking macs, gala, cortlands, paula reds and ginger gold apples. The hay wagon runs on Saturday and Sunday to take you into and out of the orchard to pick your apples. Pony rides and face and pumpkin painting have begun, and there are some barnyard animals who would like to make your acquaintance.

Tougas Farmily Farm

• Where: 246 Ball St., Northborough
• When: Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting
