Police Searching for Two Men After Home Invasion

Two men tied up a 17-year-old in his home.

Northborough police are actively investigating a home invasion and armed robbery at 29 Whitney St. that happened on Tuesday afternoon.

A 17-year-old boy was home alone, calling police to tell them that two men, whom he is familiar with, had tied him up and stolen items after he let them inside. The victim only knows the first name of one of the alleged robbers, say police.

Readers of Northborough Patch said they had seen a SWAT truck and helicopters in the area of Northborough center. Police say they did not call for a SWAT truck, and that the helicopter was most likely a news outlet.

Because of the delay in reporting the crime to police, the suspects had "plenty of time to get away," said police, who add that there are a significant amount of leads and information and the investigation is "very active."
