The Tomahawks Big Weekend of Wins

ARHS had one of its best seasons in history. Track, baseball, lacrosse and rugby—these teams are tops.

According to Algonquin Regional High School's athletic director Fran Whitten, the Tomahawks sports teams had "probably the best in Algonquin history" in terms of championship games.

This past weekend, ARHS's girls rugby team defended its MYRO State Championship (Massachusetts Youth Rugby Association), girls lacrosse won the Central Massachusetts district title (the team plays tonight in the semi-finals), the boys lacrosse team won the Central Massachusetts district title (also playing tonight for state semis) and boys varsity baseball also took the district title. The baseball team takes on Westfield on Tuesday night for the semi-state final.

On Saturday, too, Algonquin sent 12 kids to the New England Track and Field Champsionships at Thornton Academy in Saco, ME. It is the most athletes that have gone to this competition in 34 years.
